Jacob

Jacob Friesenhahn is a poet and professor of Religious Studies and Philosophy at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. His work explores the intersections of faith, myth, and the natural world, often grounding the sacred in the textures of ordinary life. He is the author of The Prayer of the Mantis (Kelsay Books, 2025) and the forthcoming The Taming of Saint Martha, a collection that continues his meditation on mystery, transformation, and the unseen threads between body and spirit. Rooted in South Texas, his poetry listens for revelation in the landscape of memory and the quiet persistence of grace.
